Hi, I'm Adam. When I'm not at Metalshop, you'll probably find me at the microphone on stage, in a tour van, or somewhere in the pit below the stage. The metal scene has been my life since I was a kid, and a leather jacket is an inseparable part of it – for me, it was never just a fashion accessory, but literally a second skin and armor. Over the years in clubs and festivals, I've tried just about everything: from light leathers to solid, heavy cowhide that survived moshpits, downpours, and rough handling backstage. I know exactly what it feels like when you're trying on a new jacket and wondering if it's too tight across the shoulders, or how much it will loosen up with wear. And that's exactly why I'm here.
A new leather jacket must fit snugly when you first try it on, the shoulder seams must not droop, and the fastening should close easily across the chest. Real leather loosens with body heat and wear by up to half a size (most in the shoulders, across the chest, and at the elbows). If you plan to wear a thick hoodie under the jacket, take your regular size. If you want to wear it just over a T-shirt and have it tight on the body, go for a slightly more fitted cut.
